Excavation within a TPZ often requires the supervision of an AQF 5 arborist. Our team is experienced in conducting and supervising excavations around trees for the installation of underground services, root mapping, root pruning, and removal of existing materials. We provide a report following the completion of works demonstrating the works conducted, how the tree and its roots were protected, what pruning occurred, and recommendations for the care of the tree going forward, including any rectification works.

Tree root mapping is a useful method for investigating driveway, footpath, building foundation damage, and measuring the impact to a protected tree. There are various tree-root-sensitive methods for excavating soil and debris to expose and map the location of suspected tree roots. Tree root mapping is useful when a tree is suspected of causing damage, but the roots are not visible. Where problematic roots are identified, our team can prune the roots and install root barriers to help mitigate future problems
